Tips for Running in the Heat at Runner's World

Tips for Running in the Heat at Runner's World

So, I'm becoming a Runner's World junkie again. I used to devour Runner's World through junior high and high school, then set it aside along with running for a while. As I've come back to running again, I've dug back to get the secrets from the pros. Thanks to my sister-in-law and a very fine Christmas present I now enjoy Runner's World in my home every month.

For you, I'm sending out this link to a great article about summer running. The heat season and monsoon humidity are making training more difficult. The article has quite a few tips for how to train smart in the extreme temperatures of Utah.

Check it out and feel free to post any other tips you may have.

How many people have registered so far? I just registered and was curious if I made it in before the 800 mark.

You are in under the 800 mark. Thanks for registering. See you on the 11th, or on the 10th for packet pickup at the park. Good luck with your summer running preparation.

I am curious too, if it's getting close to the 800 mark. Got a number you can share?

We're around 100 right now. This is totally decieving though. Last year's race had close to 800 people. Last year at this time we had less than 100 people registered. Everyone tends to register last minute - I know I do for most races that don't have a cap. The sooner you get in, the sooner you can rest your mind that you'll have one of our sweet shirts this fall when it starts getting chilly.
